ABOUT GOLIJA
The Golija Biosphere Reserve is a protected wilderness area in the mountains of southern Serbia. Named for Golija mountain, which is one of the most beautiful mountains in Serbia, it is thickly forested and remains “wild” in character. The S-shaped “biosphere” area of ’Golija-Studenica’ contains 54 hectares (133 acres) within the Natural park which covers a territory of 75 hectares (185 acres).
