Checking out the Overland Loop…


2 April 2017: Great spring-like day for our pre-run of the Overland Loop route for the First Annual Wheelers Overland Adventure, sponsored by Quadratec. Preparations for the 4-day event this May are well underway. We tested a section of the route being designed specifically for the event by Kyle Buchter of Off Road Consulting, and had a lot of fun driving it. The full Overland Loop will be roughly 40 miles across very varied terrain at AOAA. Stay tuned for more…



Trail Cleanup at AOAA…

Great turnout for Quadratec sponsored trail cleanup…


1 April 2017: Over 500 old tires plus two dumpsters full of trash were cleaned up by a large group of volunteers who came out for the Quadratec sponsored trail cleanup at Anthracite Offroad Adventure Area. It was great to see so many people pitching in to help make their trails cleaner despite the cold and wet weather. In addition to trail trash, like beer bottles and plastic containers for various vehicle fluids, the “haul” also netted several old couches, TVs, vehicle parts and other large debris, much of which had been discarded here before the property became AOAA …

COMING UP SOON:

Teaching navigational skills and talking about international overlanding at the First Annual Wheelers Overland Adventure, May 18-21 at Anthracite Offroad Adventure Area (AOAA) in eastern Pennsylvania. The four-day overland camping and wheeling event is sponsored by Quadratec and Offroad Consulting, and brings together a diverse group of overlanders for trail runs, skills instruction, and networking opportunities in a festival atmosphere with onsite camping and optional activities the whole family can enjoy…


ABOUT AOAA

AOAA Trails is an extensive off-road trail system conveniently located in Eastern Pennsylvania. Named one of the top 10 destinations in the country for ATVs, full-size vehicles and dirt bikes, the park has hundreds of miles of diverse trails on 6,500 acres and top-notch facilities. The coal lands in lower Northumberland County are leased by AOAA for the purposes of actively managing a family-friendly motorized and non-motorized recreation facility. AOAA officially opened in May of 2014 and in addition to recreation, the property has many unique environmental features, rich mining history, and varied terrain.
